I am a postgraduate student (AY 2023-2024) at the Department of Linguistics and English Language, Lancaster University, studying Language & Cognition.
My MA dissertation investigates interpersonal meaning alignment and meaning co-construction in interactional discourse under the framework of Mental Spaces Theory (Fauconnier 1994, 1997) and Common Ground (Clark 1996). #intersubjectivity, #sociallyconstructedknowledge, #interactionallinguistics, #interpersonalalignmentincollaborativeaction.
My recent coursework investigated viewpoint construction and management and negotiation (Dancygier, Lu, Verhagen 2016, Dancygier & Sweetser 2012) in (1) speech-and-thought representation (e.g. multiple-viewpointed constructions, Evans 2005), (2) stance alingment (Du Bois 2007) in immediate and extended intersubjectivity (Tantucci 2017), and (3) mental rotation (Shepard & Metzler 1971) in mental spaces.
Before returning to linguistics, I was Director of Investments and Business Development for a private enterprise with business interests in fast-moving consumer goods, logistics, agriculture (animal husbandry and agricultural commodities), and real estate development.
